Silverking Duplex

This elegant 11,154-square-foot duplex is nestled into a hillside in Aspen. Built speculatively for an owner/developer who wished to maximize the views of Aspen, Highlands, and Buttermilk ski mountains, Menendez Architects capitalized on the sloped site to integrate multi-leveled indoor and outdoor living and privacy. While a shared drive approaches the duplex, the garages are concealed on either side. Delightful outdoor living spaces are created by sod roof gardens that cover the garages and are contiguous with a stone terrace assessable from the living rooms. Wide swathes of glass further frame the mountain views and flood the interiors with light. The horizontal hardwood siding and stone reinforce the hillside setting and flow seamlessly into the interior architecture as well.
